Question 1: What are the one or two most critical issues in your precinct and/or the Town and how would you address them? Question 2: Biographical data. |
1. Brookline's key interconnected issues are maintaining a superior school system, ensuring a robust economic base to eliminate future overrides, providing quality affordable housing and advancing diversity, inclusion and equity. We have to pass laws and identify resources that increase mixed uses; make long-term financial decision-making a significant priority; seriously address our carbon footprint; and change fundamentally how the Town prevents disparities. Critical would be providing the necessary leadership to improve coalitions so that business, faith, civic, and community interests can align to generate community-wide improvements. I would work with Select Board to find funding and innovative financing for projects that comport with community scale and character. I would better incorporate residents' concerns into day-to-day decision-making. Finally, we have to create a sense of urgency if we are to effectively address issues most impacting Brookline. 2.
