1. Cypress Field is the largest park in Precinct 6. Because it's in constant, heavy use by local residents, students, daycare children, and visitors, it needs a major overhaul. Two competing factions are petitioning the Parks/Open Space Commission either to replace the present surface with plastic turf, or refurbish the natural grass and soil that has been there for 150 years. I prefer "natural grass" like all but one other TMMs from Precinct 6. 2. Resident and homeowner 35 years, with wife, Virginia. Two children graduated BHS. Outward Bound instructor, public high school teacher and administrator, NYC, Stanford, CT., Boston. Town Meeting Member, 18 years. BHS PTO, president, '92; BHS School Site Council, '94-'98. Brookline Adult & Community Education Advisory Committee, president since '02; Town Meeting Members Association, Co-Chair, '02-'04; Brookline PAX Board, 1997. Member Massachusetts Occupy Brookline, '06-'18. Honored by PAX in '08 with Ethel and Ben Alper Progressive Activist Award. |
